Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) Statement Template

Instructions:

  • Replace the text in [brackets] with your personal information.
  • Be honest, specific, and consistent with the information in your other documents.
  • This template is a guide. Adjust the flow and emphasis to fit your personal story.
  • Recommended length: 1.5 to 2.5 pages.

Key Points to Remember When Using This Template:

  1. Be Specific: Avoid clichés. Instead of “Australia has good education,” say “The Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) ensures the vocational training standard, which gives me confidence in the quality of the TAFE system.”
  2. Be Consistent: The story in your GTE must match the information in your application form, financial documents, and academic transcripts.
  3. Demonstrate Research: Show you have deeply researched your course, institution, and career path in your home country.
  4. Address Gaps: If you have a gap in your studies or employment, explain it honestly and logically within the statement.
  5. Proofread: A well-written, error-free statement creates a positive impression of you as a serious student.

This template provides the structure that the DHA case officers are accustomed to reviewing. Filling it with your genuine, detailed, and personal story is the key to making it effective.
